When the Unexpected Happens, Support Should Be Immediate, Structured, and Human.
Workplaces and schools are not immune to crisis. The sudden loss of an employee, workplace violence, traumatic injury, suicide, natural disaster, or other critical event can deeply impact morale, functioning, and psychological safety.
Kokoro Balance Integrative Services provides trauma-informed, structured Critical Incident Response (CIR) to help organizations stabilize, process, and move forward with strength and clarity.
What Is a Critical Incident?

Frequently Asked Questions
Is CIR the same as therapy?
No. Critical Incident Response is a structured, short-term, psychoeducational and stabilization-based intervention. It is not psychotherapy, though referrals can be made if ongoing care is needed.
How soon should we engage services?
Ideally within 24–72 hours following the event, though support can be beneficial at any stage.
Is this mandatory for employees?
Participation is voluntary and structured to promote psychological safety.
How long does a response typically last?
Initial sessions are often 60–90 minutes, with optional follow-up depending on organizational needs.
