A Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluation is required by the Department of Transportation (DOT) for individuals who have:
- A positive drug or alcohol test
- Refused a test
- Violated DOT drug & alcohol regulations

3. Attend Your Follow-Up Evaluation
Determines whether you have successfully met your requirements.
4. SAP Issues Your Follow-Up Testing Plan
Sent directly to your employer/DER.
5. Employer Conducts RTD Test
Once negative, you may resume safety-sensitive duties.
